As we were reviewing our medical options, we wanted to ensure that employees from both legacy Baker Hughes and GE Oil & Gas would be offered plans that offer choice while staying affordable for our employees and the company. Therefore, we decided to offer two high deductible plans (the Premium HSA and Basic HSA) and one PPO plan (the Standard Plan).
The Standard Plan and the Premium HSA are similar to the Choice Plus and Personal Choice Plus plans. The Basic HSA is a new plan option for 2019.
The Premium HSA and Basic HSA are high deductible health plans with Health Savings Accounts. You must meet your deductible before you and the plan share costs through coinsurance until you reach the out-of-pocket maximum.
The Standard Plan is a traditional PPO plan. The Standard Plan has higher rates than the Premium HSA and Basic HSA but a lower deductible than both plans. You pay coinsurance for most services after you meet your deductible. Once you meet your deductible, you continue to pay coinsurance until you reach the out-of-pocket maximum.
All three plan options cover the same services; however the deductible, out-of-pocket maximum and premium cost differ based on the option you elect. All plan options cover preventive services at 100% in-network.
