What are my Dental plan options?

Baker Hughes offers one Dental plan. 

Who is the Dental plan administrator?

Cigna is the Dental plan administrator.

Will I get a Dental plan ID card?

Cigna Dental does not issue Member ID Cards. You can either log in to your mycigna.com account or download the myCigna Mobile App to view or print a member ID card for yourself and any dependents you cover on the plan.

How can I find a dentist in the Cigna network?

Go to mycigna.com or call 1-800-542-4293.

Does the Dental plan cover orthodontia?

Yes. In-network orthodontia coverage is provided for dependent children up to age 19. The plan will pay 50% of the cost of orthodontic services, up to a lifetime maximum of $2,500. 

What is the process for orthodontia in progress?

Orthodontia in progress is a covered benefit. The accumulation (funds) will be carried over from the prior carrier. All dentist/participants will be responsible for submitting a dental claim to Cigna on or after January 1, 2023, in order for orthodontia services to continue.

My dentist recommends I have my wisdom teeth removed. Is this covered? What are the benefits?

Yes, wisdom teeth extraction is covered. You will pay 20% coinsurance, after you meet the $50 calendar year deductible, up to the $2,500 calendar year maximum.

Do I have to get my twice-yearly routine checkups at six-month intervals or can I get them anytime during the year?

The Dental plan covers routine cleanings and exams twice a year. You can get them at any time during the year. They do not have to be six months apart.

What are my Vision plan options?

Baker Hughes offers two Vision plan options – a High Plan and a Low Plan. Both plans provide comprehensive coverage for the same services. 

What are the differences between the two Vision plan options?

The High and Low Plan options will differ in cost and frequency of covered services. You can find more information here.

Who is our Vision plan administrator?

VSP is our Vision plan administrator.

Will I get a Vision plan ID card?

No. An ID card isn’t required to receive vision services or care. Call a VSP provider to schedule an appointment and tell them that you’re a VSP member. The provider and VSP will handle the rest.

How can I find a vision provider in the VSP network?

Go to VSP.com or call 1-800-877-7195.

Is LASIK covered under the Vision plan?

LASIK surgery is not covered under our plan. However, VSP does offer a discount on laser correction surgery. Your VSP provider must first qualify you as a candidate for laser surgery. Then VSP will refer you to a contracted facility. The average discount is 15% off the regular price or 5% off the promotional price. Discounts are only available from contracted VSP facilities.

Does the vision plan cover both contacts and frames in the same year?

No. You can only get contacts OR frames - you cannot get both.

How do I file an out-of-network claim with VSP?

Visit https://www.vsp.com/claims/submit-oon-claim to submit an out-of-network claim form. After completing the claim form, you may upload your receipt(s) or print and mail copies of your claim form and receipt(s) to:

I am currently enrolled in the Vision High Plan and got glasses this year. Can I enroll in the Vision Low Plan next year and be eligible for glasses/contacts?

Past service is carried over when a member moves between plans. You will not be eligible for the glasses/contacts benefit if services were used in the year prior.
